Formal Concept Analysis Applications in Bioinformatics

نویسندگان

چکیده

The bioinformatics discipline seeks to solve problems in biology with computational theories and methods. Formal concept analysis (FCA) is one such theoretical model, based on partial orders. FCA allows the user examine structural properties of data which subsets dataset depend each other. This article surveys current literature related use for bioinformatics. survey begins a discussion FCA, its hierarchical advantages, several advanced models lattice management strategies. It then examines how has been used applications, followed by future prospects those areas. applications addressed include gene (with next-generation sequencing), biomarkers discovery, protein-protein interaction, disease (including COVID-19, cancer, others), drug design development, healthcare informatics, biomedical ontologies, phylogeny. Some most promising are identifying influential nodes network representing interactions, determining critical concepts discover biomarkers, integrating machine learning deep cancer classification, pattern matching sequencing.

Linguistic Applications of Formal Concept Analysis

Formal concept analysis as a methodology of data analysis and knowledge representation has potential to be applied to a variety of linguistic problems. First, linguistic applications often involve the identification and analysis of features, such as phonemes or syntactical or grammatical markers. Formal concept analysis can be used to record and analyze such features. The line diagrams of conce...

Machine Learning methods and applications using Formal Concept Analysis

Machine learning (ML) deals with algorithms that automatically improve with experience where the experience for a ML algorithm is huge repositories of data. Machine learning methods produce a program that fits data to a model from lots of examples that specify the correct output for a given input. Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) is a successful model of learning from positive and negative example...
